Oborevwori Rallies APC Members Ahead of Tinubu Presidential Primary

Delta State Governor and Coordinator of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Primary Election in the state, Sheriff Oborevwori, has urged party leaders, stakeholders and members to mobilise massively and ensure strong support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the party’s presidential primary election scheduled for Saturday nationwide.

The governor made the call on Friday during a strategic visit to the founding leader of the APC in Delta State, O’tega Emerhor, at his country home in Evwreni, Ughelli North Local Government Area.

Oborevwori expressed confidence in the strength of the APC structure in Delta State, saying the party has the capacity to deliver overwhelming votes for President Tinubu during the exercise.

He stated that the party currently has over 470,000 registered members in Delta State, adding that this numerical strength should translate into massive participation and strong results.

According to him, the APC in the state is targeting at least 390,000 votes for the President in the upcoming primary.

“We know our strength as a party in Delta State. We have over 470,000 members and we expect a massive turnout. We are determined to deliver strong numbers because this exercise is important for the unity and future of our party,” he said.

The governor also referenced his own emergence as APC governorship candidate, where he reportedly secured over 345,000 votes, noting that the President deserves even greater support as national leader of the party.

“You affirmed me as the sole gubernatorial candidate with over 345,000 votes. This one is for Mr President and he deserves more because he is the leader of the party,” he added.

Oborevwori used the opportunity to stress discipline and unity within the APC, warning that internal disunity and lack of respect for leadership could weaken political parties.

He said sustainable political success depends on collective responsibility, internal order and respect for party structures.

“A political party without discipline, without respect for leadership and without regard for authority cannot move forward. Leadership must be respected because it provides direction and stability,” he stated.

He further urged members to remain united and focused, stressing that the strength of the APC in Delta State depends on coordination and cooperation among stakeholders.

Responding, APC founding leader in Delta State, Olorogun O’tega Emerhor, commended the governor for what he described as purposeful leadership and efforts to strengthen the party structure in the state.

Emerhor praised Oborevwori’s humility and engagement with party elders, describing it as essential for political stability and growth.

“Governor Sheriff Oborevwori is one governor who respects elders so much. We have fought for this party for years and we thank God for his coming to provide leadership and direction,” he said.

He added that successful political organisation requires consultation, inclusion and respect for established party structures.

“A leader provides direction. Political activities cannot succeed without consultation and respect for established structures,” he said.

Emerhor assured the governor of full support from APC leaders in Delta State, pledging to mobilise votes for President Tinubu during the presidential primary election.

“We are standing fully behind you because you have been leading us well and we will work hard to deliver more votes for President Bola Tinubu,” he said.
