2027: APC chieftain lists Oborevwori’s projects, seeks continuity

An All Progressives Congress chieftain in Delta State, Olorogun John Oguma, has urged residents across political and ethnic lines to support Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s re-election bid in 2027, citing projects in healthcare and road infrastructure.

Oguma said the governor’s M.O.R.E Agenda had delivered visible changes across the state, arguing that his administration should be given more time to complete ongoing projects.

He spoke with journalists on Sunday, describing Oborevwori as a leader who understood the needs of the people and had worked to spread development across Delta State.

“Oborevwori is a man of his word. He promised MORE and he is giving us MORE. From Warri to Asaba, Ughelli to Agbor, you can see work going on. This is a governor that understands the pains of the people,” he said.

On healthcare, Oguma said the state had acquired magnetic resonance imaging machines for facilities in Asaba, Warri and Oghara. He also cited the provision of CT scan equipment, radiology laboratories and dialysis machines, as well as the renovation of more than 150 primary healthcare centres.

He further claimed that more than three million Deltans were covered by health insurance and that the state had recently received a $400,000 grant from the Gates Foundation.

On infrastructure, the APC chieftain listed the ongoing flyover projects in Effurun and Warri, the Orere Bridge project and the Ughelli-Asaba road dualisation, among other completed and ongoing road projects.

He said the projects showed that the governor was committed to development across the state’s 25 local government areas.

Oguma also described Oborevwori as a leader who did not discriminate against any ethnic group, adding that his administration deserved support across the Urhobo, Itsekiri, Ijaw, Isoko and Anioma communities.

“In 2027, we will not experiment. We will not go backward. We need continuity. We need Sheriff Oborevwori to finish what he started,” he said.

He urged eligible voters to obtain their permanent voter cards and mobilise support for the governor ahead of the 2027 governorship election.

“Delta is working, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori is working. Let us work for him,” Oguma added.
