UVWIE MONARCH HOLDS INDUCTION COURSE FOR CHIEFS DESIGNATE.

The Ovie of Uvwie Kingdom HRM Dr Emmanuel Ekemejewa Sideso (JP) OON, Abe 1, yesterday held a-2-Day induction course for would-be chiefs of Uvwie Kingdom at the palace of the Ovie in Effurun.

The title of the lecture at the 2 Day Induction course include: The Traditional Administrative Structure Of Uvwie Kingdom: The Organ gram. The resource person was the Usav traditional key of Etche ‘ R Erovie (traditional administrative unit) of Uvwie Kingdom, Chief Rex Eju.

While the Unuevworo (traditional mouth piece) of Etche R ‘ Ogbe, Chief Tene Omadide (JP) gave a lecture on: Practical Application of the Code of Conduct for Uvwie Chiefs: The Dos and Don’ts of Uvwie chiefs.

The Transition to Ohonvworen (chieftaincy) Society: A Privileges and Responsibilities of Uvwie chief was eruditely handled by another distinguished chief of Uvwie Kingdom, Chief Hope Erute on Day 2 of the Induction course.

 This was immediately followed by a lecture titled:  The Conferment and Procedures for Uvwie Chiefs handled by an authority in Uvwie custom and tradition, High Chief Okwowe who is the Usavwre (traditional key) of Etche R’ Alegbo and Personal Assistant (PA) to the Ovie of Uvwie Kingdom.

In a brief media chat with our correspondents shortly after the Induction course, Dr Samuel Eshenake JP who is the coordinator of the Induction course and Secretary of Ogwedion Uvwie Traditional Council of Chiefs explained that the Induction course was put in place by HRM Abe 1 to enlighten the would-be chiefs on the custom and tradition of Uvwie Chieftaincy Institution.

Eshenake the traditional mouth piece (Unuevworo) of Ohorie Traditional Administrative Unit in Uvwie Kingdom and a lecturer of Economics in College of Education, Warri further explained that the Induction course was aimed at instilling discipline amongst the would-be chiefs.

Some of the would-be chiefs who spoke to our correspondents shortly after the Induction course gave kudos to the Ovie of Uvwie Kingdom for his initiative of holding Induction course for would-be chiefs while others affirmed that they gained a lot from the 2 Days Induction Course.
