Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has congratulated his predecessor, Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, on his 67th birthday, describing him as a committed leader whose years of public service have made a lasting impact on Delta State and Nigeria.
In a goodwill message issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Festus Ahon, the governor commended Okowa’s dedication to governance, saying his political career reflects years of experience, hard work and commitment to the development of the state.
Oborevwori noted that Okowa served in several key positions before becoming governor, including Secretary of the defunct Ika Local Government Council, pioneer Chairman of Ika North-East Local Government Council, Commissioner, Secretary to the State Government, Senator and Governor of Delta State for two consecutive terms.
The governor said the former governor’s wealth of experience and passion for public service earned him a respected place in the political history of Delta State.
He added that Okowa’s administration implemented projects and programmes across critical sectors, laying a strong foundation that continues to support the state’s growth and development.
According to Oborevwori, Okowa’s leadership was marked by sacrifice, resilience and a strong commitment to improving the lives of the people, while his contributions to peace, unity and good governance remain widely appreciated.
The governor prayed for God’s continued blessings upon the former governor, wishing him good health, wisdom, strength and many more years of meaningful service to Delta State, Nigeria and humanity.
