Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has celebrated his Chief Adviser, Chief (Dr.) Ighoyota Amori, on his 74th birthday, describing the veteran politician as an experienced leader whose years of service have contributed to the development of the state.
Oborevwori said Amori’s decades of involvement in politics and public service had made him an important figure in the political development of Delta State.
The governor’s message was contained in a statement issued on Saturday by his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Festus Ahon, in which he commended the celebrant for his commitment to governance and the welfare of the people.
According to Oborevwori, Amori’s experience and political understanding had continued to benefit the state, particularly through his leadership of the Delta Central 2023 (DC-23) political lobby group.
The governor said Amori’s 74th birthday was an opportunity to reflect on his contributions to politics, governance and community development, describing his years of service as worthy of recognition.
Oborevwori said, “On behalf of the government and people of Delta State, I warmly felicitate with you, Chief Ighoyota Amori, on the occasion of your 74th birthday.
“Your years of dedicated service to God, Delta State and humanity are worthy of commendation. Your courage, consistency and commitment to the ideals of leadership and progress have remained remarkable.”
The governor noted that Amori’s political experience and commitment had remained valuable to the state, adding that his contributions had extended beyond political activities to issues affecting the wider development of Delta.
He said the celebrant had demonstrated resilience and consistency over the years, qualities which, according to him, had earned Amori a place in the political history of the state.
Oborevwori prayed for continued good health, wisdom and strength for Amori, urging him to sustain his contributions to the state and humanity.
“As you celebrate this milestone, I celebrate your invaluable contributions to our state and pray that God will continue to grant you good health, wisdom and strength to serve humanity,” the governor added.
He also wished Amori more years of peace, fulfilment and success, while appreciating his continued service to Delta State.
