A professor of Political Science, Robert Oghenedoro Dode, will lead discussions on electoral integrity, insecurity and media accountability at the 2026 Annual Conference and 6th Lecture Series of the Delta Online Publishers Forum in Asaba.
The conference, scheduled for October 21, 2026, at David’s Event Centre, GRA, Asaba, will focus on the theme, “Democracy Under Pressure: Electoral Integrity, Security Challenges and Media Accountability in Nigeria.”
Dode, a professor of Political Science at Dennis Osadebay University, Asaba, accepted the invitation to serve as the Special Guest Lecturer for the event.
The lecture is expected to examine challenges facing Nigeria’s democratic institutions, including the credibility of elections, security concerns and the role of the media in promoting accountability and good governance.
Dode, who previously served as Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academics) of Dennis Osadebay University, has more than two decades of experience in teaching, research and university administration.
He has also worked with the National Universities Commission as a resource person, accreditation team member and academic assessor, while his engagements with the National Defence College, Abuja, have focused on governance, security and strategic affairs.
The Otorho-Idjerhe, Ethiope West Local Government Area-born scholar obtained his B.Sc. in Political Science and Public Administration and M.Sc. in Public Administration from the University of Uyo before earning his Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of Port Harcourt.
The DOPF conference is expected to bring together government officials, policymakers, legislators, academics, journalists, civil society groups, security experts and other stakeholders to discuss issues affecting Nigeria.
Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, is expected to attend the event as the Special Guest of Honour.
The forum said the participation of Dode would add an academic perspective to discussions on electoral integrity, security, media responsibility and accountable governance.
