Delta Commissioner Odigie Pledges Support to DYTM During Courtesy Visit

The Delta State Transformation Movement (DYTM) has strengthened its relationship with the state government following a courtesy visit to the Commissioner for Science and Technology, Hon. Odinigwe Daniel Odigie, who also serves as Patron of the DYTM Delta North chapter.

The visit was aimed at briefing the Commissioner on the movement’s expanding programmes and seeking support ahead of its planned state-wide inauguration and outreach activities.

The delegation was led by DYTM President, Comr. Isioma Melekwe Odozi, who said the movement is widening its reach across Delta State, including non-indigenous communities, with programmes focused on youth empowerment, drug abuse awareness, disability inclusion, and health sensitisation.

He also informed the Commissioner about plans for an official inauguration of new initiatives that will help mobilise members across various local government areas in the state. However, he noted that the group is currently facing logistical and financial constraints, especially in transportation and event organisation.

In response, Hon. Odigie assured the delegation of his support, pledging to assist the movement and respond positively to their request.

He stated that he would provide financial assistance before the end of the month and explore additional ways to support the initiative where possible. He also indicated willingness to consider cost-reduction measures for event logistics, including venue arrangements, though he noted that full transportation support may be difficult.

The Commissioner, while appreciating the visit, encouraged continued collaboration with his office and reaffirmed his commitment to supporting youth-driven and community development programmes within available resources.

Both parties expressed optimism at the end of the meeting, agreeing to strengthen collaboration toward advancing development initiatives across Delta State.
