The governorship candidate of the African Action Congress in Delta State, Isaac Eshor, has promised to focus on infrastructure, job creation and industrial development if elected in the 2027 governorship election.
Eshor said his ambition was driven by a desire to improve the lives of Deltans and unlock the state’s economic potential through investments in key sectors, including the maritime industry.
Speaking on his plans, the AAC candidate said many communities in Delta still struggle with poor roads, unemployment, inadequate healthcare, environmental challenges and limited economic opportunities despite the state’s rich natural resources.
He said his administration would prioritise road construction, quality healthcare, education, youth empowerment, agriculture, industrialisation and technology to improve the standard of living.
According to him, attracting investors and creating jobs would be at the centre of his economic agenda, adding that development would be spread across all parts of the state.
Eshor also unveiled plans to establish a modern dockyard in Delta, saying the project would take advantage of the state’s coastline and waterways to boost maritime business.
He said the proposed dockyard would create thousands of jobs in shipbuilding, vessel repairs, logistics, fabrication and other marine-related businesses, while attracting local and foreign investments.
The AAC candidate added that the project would also provide technical and vocational training opportunities for young people.
“Economic transformation requires deliberate investment in critical infrastructure that creates jobs and attracts investors. A modern dockyard will help revive Delta’s marine economy and position the state as a maritime hub,” he said.
Eshor called on residents to support his vision of transparent leadership, industrial growth and inclusive governance, expressing confidence that Delta could become more prosperous and economically competitive under his administration.
