Tinubu’s Re-Election Is My Number One Project — Oborevwori

Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has declared his support for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027, describing the President’s second-term bid as his top political priority.

The governor made the statement during an interview on ARISE News monitored in Asaba, where he said President Tinubu’s return to office would bring more development and economic benefits to Delta State and the country.

Oborevwori said he would actively mobilise support for the President ahead of the 2027 general elections, adding that the success of Tinubu’s administration would help state governments deliver more projects and services to the people.

According to him, economic reforms introduced by the Federal Government have increased the amount of revenue available to states, enabling Delta State to execute more infrastructure projects and meet its financial obligations without difficulty.

The governor explained that his administration is currently able to pay contractors promptly once projects are certified, unlike in the past when states often depended heavily on monthly federal allocations before meeting such obligations.

He said Delta State is experiencing improved financial stability, which he attributed to policies implemented by the Tinubu administration.

Oborevwori maintained that the Federal Government’s reforms are producing positive results in Delta State, stressing that the increased revenue has supported ongoing road construction, infrastructure development, and other government programmes.

Speaking on the political situation in the state, the governor expressed confidence in the strength of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State and said the party remains united ahead of future elections.

He revealed that wide consultations were held before the mass movement of political stakeholders from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the APC, adding that the decision received broad support from party leaders, elected officials, community leaders, religious groups, and other stakeholders.

According to him, the large-scale defection demonstrated the level of support for the APC across the state and strengthened the party’s structure ahead of the 2027 elections.

Oborevwori also expressed confidence that Delta State would deliver substantial votes for President Tinubu, noting that many residents have embraced the APC and are already seeing the benefits of the Federal Government’s policies.

He dismissed concerns about opposition parties gaining ground in the state, insisting that the achievements of his administration would help convince voters to support the APC.

The governor said his administration has completed and is still executing numerous projects across Delta State, adding that the visible impact of the projects speaks for itself.

He further expressed optimism that Deltans would support President Tinubu’s re-election because of what he described as the positive effects of the President’s reforms on the state and its people.

Oborevwori concluded by stating that he remains confident in President Tinubu’s leadership and believes the people of Delta State will support his bid for a second term in office in 2027.
