Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, on Tuesday expressed gratitude to God for what he described as a peaceful and successful APC primary election process in the state.
The governor spoke during a morning devotion service held at the Government House Chapel in Asaba, where he thanked God for sustaining his administration and granting peace, unity, and stability in Delta State.
Oborevwori said he came to return all glory to God for the smooth conduct of the APC primaries, noting that the peaceful outcome was a major reason for thanksgiving.
According to him, thanksgiving has always been part of his life after every victory and achievement, stressing that gratitude to God remains important in all situations.
“First, I want to thank God today for keeping us to this day. Thank God for all that He has done for us and for the show of love that Deltans have shown to this administration,” the governor said.
Quoting Psalm 100 verse 4, Oborevwori noted that believers are encouraged to enter God’s presence with thanksgiving and praise.
He said: “I have come here to return the glory to God who has made everything possible. No crisis, no fights, nothing. Everything went peacefully.”
The governor described the recent APC primary elections as one of the most peaceful in the state in recent times, adding that past experiences made the successful conduct of the exercise more significant.
“If you know what we went through during the 2022 primaries, we have every reason to thank God that everything went well,” he stated.
Oborevwori also advised against placing political leaders above God, reminding supporters that service to humanity should not replace devotion to God.
“You are not serving me, you are serving God. Salvation is personal,” he added.
The governor further encouraged people to remain thankful for life, good health, and God’s blessings, noting that wealth without good health is meaningless.
He also appreciated members of the Government House Chapel for sustaining regular prayer sessions and spiritual support for the administration.
Oborevwori disclosed that the state government would hold its annual thanksgiving service on Friday as part of activities marking his third anniversary in office and to appreciate God for His guidance and blessings on the state.
