Gov. Okowa Reappoints Ogueh As CMD, DELSUTH

For the second time, The Chief Medical Director of Delta State University Teaching Hospital, Oghara, Dr Onome Ogueh has been reappointed.

The reappointment of the CMD took effect from the 19th of December, 2019 and was received with so much commendation; especially from staff of the hospital.

Dr. Ogueh, who is a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist, obtained his
Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree in 1986
from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria.

He is also a fellow of the Royal College of Obstetricians’ Council and the
Medical Defence Union and was a consultant Obstetrician and
Gynaecologist and Associate Medical Director with the Brighton and
Sussex University Hospital in the United Kingdom.

He also served as an Honorary Clinical Senior Lecturer with the
Brighton and Sussex Medical School in Brighton, United Kingdom.

Commenting on the new development, the Head of Department of
Ophthalmology, Dr Ebele Abandon noted that it was indeed a welcomed
development, adding that has been at the forefront of the progress seen
in the hospital.

She also affirmed her department’s commitment to work in
line with the vision of the Chief Medical Director.

Speaking shortly with journalists after the appointment, Dr. Ogueh
expressed gratitude to Governor Okowa for the
confidence reposed on him.

Also appointed are Dr. Okolugbo Nekwu Emmanuel,
Chairman Medical Advisory Committee (CMAC)/ Director of Clinical Services and Training at Delsuth Oghara, and Dr Emmanuel. E. Akpo as
Deputy Chairman Advisory Committee, Delsuth.

They also thanked the state Governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa for finding worthy to serve in various capacities.
