Nigerian Minister of State, Labour, and Employment, Festus Keyamo, SAN, has urged all telecommunications companies and Digital satellite TV to extend all monthly subscription plans as a way to support Nigerian workers during this Lockdown.

The honorable minister disclosed this using his verified Twitter account on Monday, March 30, 2020.

The Minister directed that the likes of @DstvNg and @StarTimes_Ng should attempt to extend all their subscription by at least one month, free-of-charge, as their own personal contributions to help ease the pains caused by this current pandemic lockdown.

The Minister also urged Telecommunications Giants like @MTNNG, @9mobileng, @AirtelNigeria, and @GloWorld, to consider giving token airtime and data to relieve Nigerians from their discomforts while staying at home.

Speaking further, he said that the Telecommunication company should endeavour to encourage communication between individuals and appropriate authorites most especially when a toll-free number is busy in case of emergency.

Keyamo opines that he was only a minister saddled with the responsibility of the Nigerian worker’s welfare.
