Driver hits Covid-19 essential duty car in Delta

A truck driver believed to be a Hausa man, has hit a brand new Corolla LE car with Reg. No. Abuja RSH- 772 BM.

The incident which took place on Monday along Mary Babangida Way, just by the Appeal Court complex junction, left many people in fear.

The truck driver was said to have finished supplying blocks and from the Appeal Court side of the road, crossed to the other side of the road and hit the Corolla car coming from the Okpanam road axis and heading to the express

An eye witness confirmed to newsmen that the truck driver was reckless, explaining that he ran into the road without minding if another vehicle was coming from the other side of the lane.

The eye witness also noted that as soon as the car was hit, the truck driver jumped out and fled, maybe he had killed his victim.

However, the car owner was able to come out of the completely destroyed car unhurt.

He identified himself as Clem, a member of the Covid-19 Team on essential duty.

At press time, a police measurement of the accident scene was taken. The truck and the Corolla had been towed to the police station.
