The Delta State Government has announced plans to hold a special praise and thanksgiving service to mark the third anniversary of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s administration.
The event, tagged Delta State Praise and Thanksgiving Day 2026, is scheduled to hold on Friday, May 29, 2026, at the Dome Event Centre in Asaba, the state capital.
Commissioner for Works (Rural Roads) and Public Information, Charles Aniagwu, disclosed this in a statement issued on Wednesday.
According to him, the thanksgiving service forms part of activities lined up to celebrate Governor Oborevwori’s three years in office.
Aniagwu explained that the programme was organised to appreciate God for the peace, unity and development recorded in Delta State under the current administration.
He stated that the event would bring together political leaders, government officials, traditional rulers, religious leaders, youths and residents from different parts of the state.
The commissioner noted that the gathering would also provide an opportunity for Deltans to reflect on the achievements of the administration and pray for greater progress in the state.
“The Delta State Praise and Thanksgiving Day offers us an opportunity to appreciate God Almighty for His grace, peace and blessings upon our state,” Aniagwu said.
He added that prayers would also be offered for peace, unity and prosperity in Delta State and the country at large.
Aniagwu urged residents to attend the programme and participate actively in the worship and thanksgiving sessions.
The event is expected to feature praise and worship activities, while popular cleric, Joshua Selman, is billed to minister during the service.
Governor Sheriff Oborevwori is also expected to attend alongside top government officials and other stakeholders as part of activities commemorating the administration’s third anniversary.
