Delta projects N1.237tn budget for 2027.

Delta State is projecting N1.237tn in spending for the 2027 fiscal year, with the state House of Assembly set to review the proposed fiscal framework before the budget is prepared.

Governor Sheriff Oborevwori submitted the 2027–2029 Medium-Term Expenditure Framework and Fiscal Strategy Paper to the lawmakers, outlining the financial projections that will guide the state’s budget planning.

The documents were presented during Tuesday’s plenary presided over by the Speaker, Emomotimi Dennis Guwor.

In a letter read during the session, the governor explained that the framework would provide the fiscal direction for preparing the 2027 budget, with projections extending to 2028 and 2029.

The MTEF and FSP contain key macroeconomic assumptions, revenue and expenditure estimates, and other fiscal indicators expected to guide the state’s budgeting process.

Following the presentation, Guwor referred the documents to the House Committee on Finance and Appropriation for detailed scrutiny. The committee is expected to submit its report to the House on November 3, 2026.

Meanwhile, the member representing Ndokwa West Constituency, Charles Emetulu, thanked the Speaker, fellow lawmakers and Assembly staff, as well as Governor Oborevwori and his wife, Deaconess Tobore Oborevwori, for celebrating his 60th birthday.

Emetulu also expressed appreciation to Deputy Governor Monday Onyeme and his wife, political associates and other well-wishers for their goodwill and support.

The lawmakers adjourned plenary until Wednesday, October 28, 2026, when the House is expected to resume sitting.
