The Delta State Government has begun three days of mourning for former Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan, ordering flags on public buildings across the state to fly at half-mast in honour of the late leader.
The mourning period took effect on Monday, October 19, following Uduaghan’s death at the age of 71.
The directive was contained in a statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Kingsley Emu.
Governor Sheriff Oborevwori ordered that all flags on public buildings across the state be flown at half-mast throughout the three-day mourning period as a mark of respect for his predecessor.
Uduaghan governed Delta State from 2007 to 2015. He would have turned 72 on Thursday, October 22, three days after his death.
