The Delta beyond Excellence (DBE) award committee has said the 3rd edition of the event will take place this year.
This was disclosed by the founder of the forum, Comrade Samuel Akpobasahan, popularly known as Mc Alleluya, in a statement made available to journalists on Monday.
He said the DBE award is an avenue to celebrate academic excellence, diligence in all area of work in Delta State higher institutions adding that this will be the 3rd edition of the programme.
“The DBE Awards is a platform set up to celebrate academic excellence in Delta State higher institutions and this is the 3rd edition” . He noted.
He also disclosed that the event is made to encourage and motivate students in the state to get serious in their academic pursuits.
Comrade Samuel also noted that one of the major goals of the DBE award is to promote social and outstanding reward for hard work in higher institutions in the state.
He also said the DBE award organizing committee will use the medium to award best lecturers, non academic staff and most diligent workers in the institution.
Responding, the DBE award media host who is also the CEO Golden Nation Blog, Comrade Efecha Collins Gold, said the first phase of the award is the nomination, while the second phase will be for investigation and selections of best student in each department from various institutions in the state.
Comrade Gold also revealed that certificates and financial supports will be given to students that will make it to the finals during the screening process.
On his part, Comrade Gold noted that Delta State Leaders and deserving personalities will be celebrated in their various capacities.
“The personalities to be awarded from the government includes Governor, former governors, Senators, formal senators, House of Representative members, Commissioners, House of Assembly members , General Managers, Civil Servants, Entrepreneurs, Industrialists, Talent developers and others”. He said.
Speaking further, Comrade Gold disclosed that the first edition of the DBE Award was in 2014 adding that the event gained more popularity in the second edition in 2017, with special recognition and collaboration from the state government through the office of the SA to Governor on student affairs.
He noted that the third edition of the DBE Award is to take place this year stressing that it will be greater with motivations, encouragements and celebration around four higher institutions in the state.
He said the date and venue for the event will be officially announced to the general public soon.
