Covid-19: Delta Commences Open Distance Learning Programme

In response to the educational needs of students preparing for the 2020 certificate examination (JSS 3 and SSS 3), the Delta State Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education in partnership with the Ministry of Information has announced a television and radio program tagged ‘Open Distance Learning Programme’.

According to a public service announcement signed by the State Director of Information, Dona Obuseh, this program is to ensure that students’ learning does not stop during this period of school closure to check the spread of the COVID-19.

Obuseh said the free lessons in selected core subjects will commence on Thursday, 2nd April 2020 and will run for four (4) weeks in the first instance on Delta Broadcasting Service, radio and television, Asaba and Warri; Monday to Friday daily from 9:00 am to 11:00 am.

“Parents and Guardians are advised to make it possible for their children/wards to remain connected to the Delta Broadcasting Service, radio and television with their writing materials and listen to the free lessons”, he said.
