Chief Adviser to the Delta State Governor, Senator Ighoyota Amori, has described the Commissioner for Works (Rural Roads) and Public Information, Mr Charles Aniagwu, as a public servant who has combined effective communication with infrastructure delivery.
Amori stated this in a birthday message to Aniagwu, issued by his Public Relations Officer, Mr Joelson Wilson, on Sunday.
He said Aniagwu’s experience in journalism and government communication had helped him play a significant role in explaining government policies to the public while overseeing rural road projects across the state.
According to him, Aniagwu’s previous service as Chief Press Secretary to former Governor Ifeanyi Okowa and his current role as a two-time commissioner under Governor Sheriff Oborevwori reflected his consistency and commitment to public service.
Amori said Aniagwu’s responsibilities went beyond media briefings, pointing to his involvement in rural road projects as evidence of his contribution to the state’s development.
He cited the Emevor-Orogun Road in Isoko North and the Obi-Ibabu Road in Ndokwa West among projects he said showed the impact of the state government’s M.O.R.E Agenda in rural communities.
“Charles Aniagwu belongs to that rare class of public officers who have mastered the art of speaking for government while also delivering visible results on the ground,” Amori said.
He added, “As Commissioner for Works, Rural Roads and Public Information, he has combined the responsibility of explaining government policy with the duty of building the roads that connect our rural communities to opportunity.”
The Chief Adviser also congratulated Aniagwu on his recent recognition as the 2026 Media Icon of the Year by the Delta Icons of Goodwill Awards.
Amori described the award as recognition of Aniagwu’s years of service in journalism, public communication and government.
“This latest recognition only confirms what those of us who have worked closely with government already know,” he said.
“Charles Aniagwu has, over the years, proven himself to be both the voice that builds and the builder who speaks.”
Amori prayed for the commissioner’s continued good health, wisdom and strength, while urging Deltans to celebrate him for his contributions to the state.
He described Aniagwu as an asset to the Oborevwori administration and expressed confidence that he would continue to serve Delta State with dedication.
