Nysc Orientation: State Coordinator Orders Corps Members To Be Law Abiding

The Delta State Coordinator of NYSC, Mrs. Olutayo Samuel has ordered the newly deployed Batch A Stream 1 corps members to be law-abiding, disciplined and obedient to rules and regulations of the NYSC.

She gave this order while taking the corps members through an orientation course hours after their swearing-in ceremony in Issele-uku, Aniocha South Local Government Area of Delta State.

The NYSC boss, who praised the corp members for their outstanding conduct and comportment since their entry into the camp and through swearing-in, said they made her proud.

She congratulated them for graduating from their various institutions of learning, insisting that not all that went into school with them graduated.

Speaking further, the NYSC coordinator advised the corps members to desist from breaking camp laws, stressing that the consequence might be much more than they could imagine.

She stressed that the Orientation Camp is regimented, meaning that they were there to take all orders and not flout any. He said that the purpose of Orientation is to properly guide them with their induction into the four cardinal programs of NYSC.

Furthermore, the Coordinator advised them to be security conscious at all times, urging them to imbibe the habit of reporting when they suspect anything. She, however, allayed their fear of insecurity, maintaining that Delta is one of the most peaceful States in Nigeria.

Against the above background, she advised against the pressure for relocation, adding that the only reasons for relocation from Delta should be on the grounds of marriage and serious medical challenges.

Earlier, the Delta State Commissioner for Youth Development, Comrade Ifeanyi Michael Egwunyenga was at the Orientation Camp in Issele-Uku to conduct the swearing-in of the Batch A Stream 1 corps members.

He had also charged them to be law-abiding and passionately put in their best during the service year, adding that there would always be a reward for exceptional service and good conduct at the end of their service.

Another very important change that has taken place at the camp with regards to the present Coronavirus outbreak is having a stand for the screening of corps members, NYSC officials and visitors against the Coronavirus disease otherwise known as COVID’19.

This precautionary measure had been applauded by everyone who was at the camp either as a worker or a visitor.
