The Medical Women’s Association of Nigeria (MWAN), Delta State chapter, and the Ophthalmological Society of Nigeria (OSN) have congratulated Dr. Gloria Patrick-Ferife on her appointment as Permanent Secretary in the Delta State Ministry of Health.
Dr. Patrick-Ferife, who previously served as Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Technical Education, has now been redeployed to oversee the Ministry of Health.
In separate congratulatory messages, both professional bodies described her appointment as a recognition of her competence, leadership ability and outstanding service in the public sector.
MWAN Delta expressed joy over the appointment, noting that Dr. Patrick-Ferife had made significant contributions during her tenure in the Ministry of Technical Education.
The association said her transfer to the health ministry presents another opportunity for her to bring her experience and expertise to the improvement of healthcare services across Delta State.
In a statement signed by the association’s Public Relations Officer, Dr. Harriet Akpughe, and President, Dr. Onyi Owa-Nwabuzo, MWAN prayed for wisdom, grace and greater accomplishments for the new Permanent Secretary in her new role.
Similarly, the Ophthalmological Society of Nigeria described the appointment as well-deserved and a reflection of Dr. Patrick-Ferife’s versatility and professionalism.
The society noted that her successful leadership in the Ministry of Technical Education and her new appointment to the Ministry of Health demonstrate her capacity as an administrator, consultant ophthalmologist and public servant.
In a statement signed by its National Public Relations Officer, Dr. Sewuese Bitto, the society expressed confidence that Dr. Patrick-Ferife would make a positive impact in the health sector and contribute to improved healthcare delivery for residents of Delta State.
Both organizations wished her success in her new assignment and expressed optimism that her leadership would further strengthen healthcare administration and service delivery in the state.
