A member of the Labour Party, Comrade Peter Onyeisi Marvellous, popularly known as Mr Marvis, has officially declared his intention to contest for a seat in the Delta State House of Assembly, representing Aniocha North II Constituency in the 2027 general elections.
In a statement dated April 15, 2026, the aspirant addressed party leaders, constituents, and supporters, presenting himself as a grassroots candidate committed to improving representation and development in the constituency. He described his decision as a response to the need for more active, people-focused leadership in Aniocha North II.
Marvellous, who previously contested as the Labour Party councillorship candidate for Ward 16 (Idumu-Ogo and Ugboba) in 2024, said his political journey has been shaped by close interaction with residents and a deep understanding of local challenges. He noted that his upbringing instilled in him the values of hard work, resilience, and community development.
The aspirant emphasized that his ambition goes beyond occupying public office, stating that his goal is to ensure that governance delivers tangible benefits at the grassroots level. He expressed concern over what he described as years of neglect, stalled development, and missed opportunities, particularly affecting young people in the constituency.
“I am entering this race because I believe in a brighter future for our constituency, where our voices are heard and our needs addressed,” he said, adding that his campaign would focus on integrity, transparency, and accountability in public service.
Marvellous also called for the support and partnership of constituents, urging them to join him in what he described as a collective effort to “change the narrative” of Aniocha North II. He stressed that meaningful progress would require collaboration between leadership and the people.
Highlighting his youth and energy, he pledged to provide vibrant and responsive representation if elected. He further assured constituents of his readiness to work tirelessly to improve living conditions and promote development across communities in the constituency.
