Izeze Endorses Waive for Third Term Ahead of 2027 Elections

ASABA, Delta State — The Delta State Commissioner for Works (Highways and Urban Roads), Reuben Izeze, has publicly declared support for the re-election bid of Francis Ejiroghene Waive ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Hon. Waive, who represents Ughelli North/Ughelli South/Udu Federal Constituency, is aiming for another term in the House of Representatives, positioning himself to continue his legislative work and constituency projects.

The lawmaker currently serves as Chairman of the House Committee on Rules and Business in the 10th National Assembly, a role considered pivotal in coordinating legislative activities.

Izeze made his position known in a statement posted on his Facebook page, where he expressed unwavering support for Waive’s ambition. The commissioner described his endorsement as both a personal conviction and an ideological choice.

“I stand firmly with Hon. Waive,” Izeze stated, signalling strong backing for the lawmaker’s continued representation of the constituency.

However, the commissioner clarified that his support is conditional on continued respect for the leadership and constitutional authority of Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori. He described the governor as his “boss, elder brother, and leader,” reaffirming his loyalty.

Izeze stressed that he does not operate under multiple political allegiances, noting that his political alignment remains clear and is solely committed to the governor’s leadership.

He further explained that his decision was not taken lightly, noting that he had carefully considered the political landscape before making his position public.

The commissioner added that internal party processes, particularly the mode of primaries, would play a key role in determining the eventual candidate, expressing confidence that a transparent process would strengthen party unity.

Political observers say the endorsement reflects early realignments within the constituency, as aspirants and stakeholders begin consultations ahead of the 2027 polls.
