
The Ndokwa Association in America foundation , has said the association will be giving scholarship award to each Local Government Area in Ndokwa nation.
The local government areas to benefit from this scheme are Ndokwa East, Ndokwa West, and Ukwuani local government.
The association said it will be giving the sum of $500 per students towards tuition payment adding that the money will be disbursed to the university’s/polytechnic’s bursary office on behalf of the students.
According to the association, the candidate must be an Ndokwa indigene by Parentage (Father or Mother), the candidate must be enrolled in an undergraduate degree or HND program in any higher institution in Nigeria.
The association also said selection of candidates for the scholarship programme, will be based on need and merit adding that the application period is from July 15 to October 16 of each year.
Still on the criteria for eligibility, the Association also said the student must maintain an average grade point (A.G.P.) of 2.5 in a 4 point Scale and 3.0 in a 5 point Scale adding that Each applicant shall accompany his/her application with recommendation letters
, a letter from an academic adviser at the student’s school,
a signed or notarized identification letter by a Justice of Peace (JP) from his/her Local Government Area.
They also said each recipient must notify Ndokwa Association in America of any internship /Industrial Training during the academic year.
The association also disclosed that recipients must provide his/her transcript for the previous semester before receiving the award money for the current semester.
Recipients will be selected and announced in the first quarter of the school year and the scholarship award follows thereafter.
