Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, has expressed sadness over the death of Very Rev. Fr. Anthony Mario Ozele, the Episcopal Vicar of Ughelli Pastoral Region and Parish Priest of Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ughelli.
Ozele, 60, died on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, after an illness.
In a condolence message issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Festus Ahon, in Asaba on Wednesday, Oborevwori described the priest’s death as a painful loss to the Catholic Church, his parishioners and Delta State.
The governor said Ozele dedicated his life to serving God and humanity, urging members of the Catholic community to draw strength from his contributions and service.
He commiserated with the Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Warri, Most Rev. Anthony Ovayero Ewherido, priests, religious leaders and members of the church over the death.
Oborevwori also sympathised with the deceased priest’s family and prayed that God would give them the strength to cope with the loss.
