The Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Dennis Guwor, has congratulated the Chief Adviser to the state Governor, Chief Ighoyota Amori, on his 74th birthday.
Guwor, who is also Chairman of the Conference of Speakers of State Legislatures in Nigeria, described Amori as an experienced political leader and patriot whose contributions to the development of Delta State would remain significant.
In a statement issued in Asaba by his Chief Press Secretary, Nkem Nwaeke, the Speaker highlighted Amori’s various roles in public service, including his time as Commissioner for Education in Delta State.
He said Amori contributed to the development of basic education during his tenure as commissioner and also made an impact during his brief stint in the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Guwor also acknowledged Amori’s service as Senior Political Adviser in the state and his current role as Chief Adviser to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori.
According to him, Amori’s experience and strong grassroots connections have continued to make him an important figure in the state’s political landscape.
The Speaker said the celebrant had consistently promoted good governance, political stability and unity in Delta State, adding that his wealth of experience remained valuable to the government and people.
“Chief Amori has, over the years, demonstrated commitment to good governance, political stability, and the unity of Delta State.
“At 74, he remains a shining example of selfless service, mentorship, and statesmanship. His wealth of experience continues to be of immense benefit to our government and people,” Guwor said.
He further commended Amori for providing political guidance in support of the state government’s development agenda and for his continued role in mobilising people at the grassroots.
Guwor, on behalf of members of the Delta State House of Assembly, prayed for God’s continued protection, good health and strength for Amori.
He wished the former commissioner and senator more years of meaningful service to Delta State and Nigeria, as well as a joyful birthday celebration.
