Portable Explains Why He Walked Out of Fight Against Okocha

Street-pop singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has said he walked out of his celebrity boxing rematch against Nollywood actor Charles Okocha because he was allegedly bitten and choked during the fight.

Portable made the claim in a video shared on his Instagram page on Saturday, a day after he was disqualified from the bout held at the Balmoral Convention Centre, Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos.

The singer displayed what he described as bite marks and injuries on his back and body, alleging that Okocha abandoned boxing and resorted to wrestling during the contest.

“They said he eats Molly. He didn’t see Molly anymore, so he ate my back,” Portable said while showing the alleged injury.

He further claimed that Okocha bit him during the fight.

“Man, he bit me. I landed a heavy hit on him,” he said.

Portable insisted he was in control of the fight before the incident and claimed he landed more punches than his opponent.

“Normally, I beat him up. One man is stronger than another. I dealt him a huge blow,” he said.

Explaining why he left the ring, the singer said he no longer wanted to risk his career in celebrity boxing, insisting that his value was greater than the prize money.

“He bit me, number one. He choked my neck. That’s why I said I don’t want to fight again. I’m bigger than the money. I’m a star,” he added.

Portable also claimed he fulfilled his promise of delivering 10 punches and had hoped to finish the fight in the first round.

“I wore one-round cloth because I wanted to beat him in one round,” he said.

The celebrity boxing contest, tagged “Unfinished Business,” ended in controversy after it turned into a wrestling-like struggle, forcing the referee and security personnel to intervene.

Portable initially left the ring before the end of the opening round but later returned. However, officials disqualified him, declaring Okocha the winner.

The rematch followed their first meeting, which Portable won, although Okocha had disputed the outcome and described the decision as unfair.

As of the time of filing this report, Okocha had not publicly responded to Portable’s allegations that he was bitten during the fight.
