Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, has congratulated former Chief Judge of Delta State, Justice Marshal Umukoro, on the occasion of his 70th birthday anniversary.
The governor described Justice Umukoro as a respected jurist whose years of service to Delta State were marked by integrity, professionalism and commitment to justice.
In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Festus Ahon, Governor Oborevwori praised the former Chief Judge for his contributions to the growth and advancement of the judiciary in Delta State.
He noted that Justice Umukoro built a distinguished career within the judicial service, which eventually led to his appointment as the Chief Judge of Delta State in 2015.
According to the governor, Justice Umukoro served meritoriously in the position until his retirement in 2021 after several years of dedicated service to the state judiciary.
Oborevwori particularly commended the retired jurist for the reforms and achievements recorded during his tenure, especially the successful implementation of full judicial autonomy in Delta State.
The governor said Justice Umukoro’s leadership helped strengthen the judiciary and improve the administration of justice in the state.
He further described the former Chief Judge as an accomplished legal luminary and a Life Bencher whose legacy within the legal profession and judicial system would continue to be remembered.
According to the statement, Justice Umukoro remained committed to fairness, justice and service to humanity throughout his career on the bench.
“On behalf of the government and people of Delta State, I join your family, friends and professional colleagues in celebrating this important milestone,” the governor said.
“As you mark your 70th birth anniversary, it is my prayer that God grants you continued good health, wisdom and fulfilment and continued service to society.”
Justice Umukoro is widely respected within legal and judicial circles for his contributions to the development of the judiciary and the legal profession in Delta State and beyond.
