Obi Okonjo Hails Chief Jude Ozah as a Beacon of Hope for Ogwashi-Uku Kingdom

By Ifeanyi Omenogor

The traditional ruler of Ogwashi-Uku Kingdom, Obi Ifechukwude Okonjo II, has praised the Isagba of Ogwashi-Uku, Chief (Dr) Jude Ozah, describing him as a star, a beacon of light, and a symbol of hope for the people of the community.

The monarch gave the commendation when Chief Ozah paid him homage during the 2025 Ine Festival held at Ogwashi-Uku in Aniocha South Local Government Area of Delta State.

Speaking through Prince Onyema Okonjo, Obi Okonjo said Chief Ozah has been using his wealth and influence to support the growth and security of Ogwashi-Uku. He noted that the community would remain grateful for Ozah’s many contributions.

According to the royal father, Chief Ozah has donated vehicles and drones to the Nigeria Police to strengthen security not only in Ogwashi-Uku but also across Delta State and the nation.

“Ogwashi-Uku would have been far more developed if we had three or four people like Chief Ozah,” Obi Okonjo said.

Speaking to journalists during the festival, Chief (Dr) Ozah emphasised the importance of peace and unity for community development. He explained that the Ine Festival is a special time when the people come together to pay homage to their traditional ruler and renew their commitment to the kingdom’s progress.

“For Ogwashi-Uku to grow, we must remain united and support our king. Peace is the foundation of every meaningful development,” he said.

The event was graced by several dignitaries, including the traditional ruler of Ojoto Kingdom, Igwe Adiriki Ojoto, Chief (Dr) Emeka Ubienu (the Ogodo of Oba), and Ide Akataka (the Okanga of Oba)—all from Anambra State—who came to celebrate with Chief Ozah.

They described Chief Ozah as a great man who genuinely cares about the welfare of his people.

Other prominent personalities, such as Hon. (Dr) Patrick Onyekanankea, Hon. Stephen Ezediunor, Chief Emmanuel Osealuka (aka Triple E Money), and Chief Obi Chinedu, also attended the festival. They prayed for God’s continued protection and blessings upon Chief Ozah and his family, calling him a builder of dreams and a pillar of hope for Ogwashi-Uku.

Similarly, the President of Ogwashi-Uku Development Union (Home Branch), Reverend John Oklie, alongside High Chief Okeibunor Augustine (the Ogboli of Ogwashi-Uku) and Chief Emeka Ohai (the Okugba of Ogwashi-Uku Kingdom), described Chief Ozah as a golden fish whose good deeds cannot be hidden.

They said Chief Ozah remains the best thing that has happened to Ogwashi-Uku Kingdom and a rare personality whose impact cannot be compared to anyone in the community.
