MTN’s Connectivity and Airtime Issues Leave Customers Frustrated

MTN, a leading telecom provider in Ghana and Nigeria, recently faced service issues that have sparked customer complaints and frustration.

It was gathered that in Ghana, many users struggled with internet connectivity and call accessibility, primarily limited to outdated 2G networks that modern smartphones often don’t support. MTN Ghana attributed this to disruptions in undersea cables, affecting multiple telecom services.

The company has since issued an apology and is working to resolve the matter with its international partners.

In Nigeria, MTN customers have been experiencing issues related to data and airtime purchases, with instances of being debited without receiving credits. Slow responses from customer service have exacerbated users’ frustrations. MTN has acknowledged the complaints and urged affected customers to reach out via direct messaging for prompt resolutions.

MTN’s service disruptions have underscored the challenges of maintaining reliable connectivity across multiple markets, prompting calls for better infrastructure and customer support.
