Nigerian singer and songwriter, Akinbiyi Abiola Ahmed, better known as Bella Shmurda, has revealed why he dropped out of school to chase his music career.
The singer revealed that he dropped out of Lagos State University (LASU) to pursue his music career because he failed some of his courses while at the institution.
He revealed that the failure finally ushered the determination to stop school.
He said this in a series of posts on Twitter on Wednesday, January 26, 2022, while analyzing his impressions in the music industry.
He also appreciated Poco Lee and Olamide for their contributions to his success.
In his post, he said “I did not regret the decision, instead, he boasted that he would not have achieved the status he is now if he had agreed to resit for the courses and further his studies.
Bella Shmurda boasted that he amassed 550 million streams as he wrote “I now worth over half a billion streams (550 million streams to be precise). I for still dey LASU dey wine and dine with carryovers and stranded with nothing in my pocket… forever glad I did my thing.”
“Thank God I was stubborn and I never got to pass those exams then. Big thanks to @Poco__lee for telling me to do that vision2020 viral video, shoutout to @Olamide for his listening ears and open hands for upcoming acts.”

However, he celebrated his birthday today and also uses the opportunity to drop his first single for the year titled ‘My Friend.’
In 2020, Bella Shmurda rose to fame with the release of his EP titled ‘Vision 2020’ after which he released other hit songs including ‘Cash App’ featuring Zlatan Ibile.
