Bad news for traducers: LPDC gives former Attorney General, Mrakpor, SAN, clean bill of health

In the wake of provocative petitions leveled against immediate past Attorney General and Commissioner of Justice of Delta State, the Legal Practitioners Disciplinary Council, (LPDC), has formally dismissed the petition as lacking merit on “all fours”.

Under a petition submitted to the LPDC dated 30th October 2020 and titled : RE: CHARGE no A/2060/2019: INSPECTOR GENERAL OF POLICE vs Chief Collins Uche Afuwah’ A case of flagrant abuse of office by the Hon Attorney general of Delta State and usurpation of powers vested in the Hon Attorney General and Minister of the federation, the LPDC asserted that Peter Mrakpor, SAN, indeed followed due process in pursuance of the matter.

The LPDC, therefore, acquitted the former HAG Delta of violating section 174 of the constitution of the federal republic of Nigeria over the prosecution of the said charge which bordered on federal offense.

The LPDC held that the immediate past Attorney general of Delta State, Peter Mrakpor, SAN, had all legal rights in the matter under review.
