Nigerian Grammy and three-time Bet award winner, Burna Boy has teamed up with Mavin boss and legendary music producer, Don Jazzy, to reinvent a banging new tune ‘Question’.
The song ‘Question’ was produced by Don Jazzy and it is the second song released by the African Giant after releasing ‘Kilometer’ shortly after his Grammy win.
The song was accompanied by its visual and it was shot in Lagos, Nigeria, by TG Omori.
The visual opens with an endearing interaction in Pidgin English between Burna Boy and a group of children – a clear distinction once again that the African giant is doing things differently, charting a new musical direction that comes with its vision which is different from all classic Burna Boy visuals.
The song ‘Question’ evokes massive memories, taking us back to easier times as Burna Boy sings in a medley of English, Pidgin English, and Yoruba, “Question but dem no get an answer. Anything wey you wish, that be your portion. Na by the grace of God and Insha Allah we dey move am”. This new vibe is filled with grassroots authenticity shows off unashamedly of the talented singer’s roots.
Not only does Burna Boy have the admirable skill to turn every sound he touches into gold, but he also has the original ability to introduce freshness to his visuals; this takes guts, audacity, talent, and a natural inclination.
Also, while revealing legendary hitmaker Don Jazzy, who makes a cameo in this video, there are no wrinkles in the sheets with this Burna Boy visual as it is a delight to watch him modify this tune from individual emotions into a fluid discussion, using his voice as a guide to facing the unknown.
One of the most successful African artists on the continent and known for pushing the envelope on his sound, Burna Boy proceeds to achieve musical milestones, retaining his position as one of Africa’s outstanding musicians who is successively shaping the new Africa sound.
