In Oyo State, a high Court stopped the Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, and the Department of State Security Services (DSS) from arresting Yoruba Nation activists, Sunday Adeyemo, better known as Sunday Igboho.
It was gathered that the presiding Judge, Justice Ladiean Akintola, on Wednesday, August 4, 2021, approved an ex-parte motion restraining the AGF, Malami, and the DSS from harassing, intimidating, arresting, and blocking Sunday Igboho’s bank account.
It was also gathered that the ex-parte motion was filed by Igboho’s lawyer, Chief Yomi Ali (SAN) who also said with the court order, Sunday Igboho’s bank account cannot be frozen.
Yomi Aliu said “With the order of the court, he must not be arrested, detained, or killed in the next 14 days. The court also said his account should not be blocked.”
Recall, in July, Sunday Igboho sued the Federal government and the DSS, and seek for N500 billion damage for the invasion of his house in Ibadan, Oyo State capital.
