The Zamfara State Government has declared a ban on the use of Jerry Can or any containers in the purchase of petrol products over rising insecurity.
The Commissioner for Information, Ibrahim Magaji Dasara, made this revelation in a statement on Saturday, April 24.
According to the Commissioner, the government found it necessary to ban the activities of black marketers in the general area of Wanke, Magami, Dansadau, Dangulbi, Dankurmi, Bindin, Munhaye, Kizarah, lunch with Kalgo and their environs with immediate effect until further notice.
The Commissioner also warned all filling stations within the affected areas to desist from selling the petroleum products to Jerry cans or any other containers.
He said, only moving vehicles are allowed to take petroleum products from the filling stations, adding that, NUPENG and other associations on petroleum products are directed to advise their members to shun any act capable of sabotaging this government order.
Also, he directed all security agencies to ensure full compliance, stating that, anybody found violating this order should be dealt with accordingly.
