Nigeria Radar Magazine to Honour Delta’s Top 10 Performing Council Chairmen

Asaba, Delta State — In recognition of outstanding leadership and impactful service at the grassroots level, Nigeria Radar Magazine, in partnership with the Nigerian Distinguished Medal of Honour, is set to honour the Top 10 Performing Local Government Council Chairmen in Delta State.

The award ceremony aims to celebrate exceptional achievements in leadership and public service, spotlighting chairmen who have demonstrated accountability, innovation, and commitment to the welfare of their people since assuming office.

According to the organisers, the selection was made after a careful and independent assessment of the local government chairmen’s performance and its direct impact on grassroots development. The assessment aligned with the MORE Agenda of the Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. (Elder) Sheriff Oborevwori, which promotes Meaningful Development, Opportunities for All, Realistic Reforms, and Enhanced Peace and Security.

The ten chairmen to be honoured include:

  1. Hon. Engr. Jerry Ehiwarior – Ika South Local Government Area
  2. Hon. Dagidi Indaye Rawlings – Bomadi Local Government Area
  3. Hon. Vincent Osilonya – Ndokwa East Local Government Area
  4. Hon. (Dr.) Obi Kelvin Ezenyili – Oshimili South Local Government Area
  5. Hon. Jaro Egbo – Ughelli North Local Government Area
  6. Hon. Julius Takeme – Burutu Local Government Area
  7. Hon. (Pastor) Jude Chukwunwike – Aniocha South Local Government Area
  8. Hon. Agbatayiniro Isaac – Warri South Local Government Area
  9. Hon. Elder Prince Godwin Ogorugba – Isoko North Local Government Area
  10. Hon. (Barr.) Solomon Possible Ajede, Esq. – Ukwuani Local Government Area

The organisers noted that each of the awardees has recorded significant progress in areas such as infrastructure development, education, youth empowerment, health, agriculture, and community engagement, thereby advancing the growth of their local government areas.

The award presentation is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, 15th October 2025, at the Conference Hall of the NUJ Press Centre, along Mariam Babangida Road, Asaba, beginning at 12 noon.

The event will be hosted by Tony C. Okwunebe (A1), the Publisher and CEO of Nigeria Radar Magazine, who described the initiative as a celebration of dedication, vision, and excellence in local governance.

“This recognition is not just about titles — it’s about results. We are celebrating the champions of grassroots administration who have truly made a difference in the lives of the people,” Okwunebe said.

He added that the event will also serve as an inspiration to other council chairmen across the state to remain steadfast in delivering good governance.

Top government officials, community leaders, media professionals, and members of the public are expected to attend the ceremony to honour the awardees for their contributions to the development of Delta State.
