ELUME MAIN TOWN, SAPELE LGA, DELTA STATE – The Azu family of Elume Main Town, with profound sorrow and hearts submitted to the will of God, has announced the passing of their beloved matriarch, Evangelist Mrs. Elizabeth Azu Ovwile. She was 71 years old.
Known for her deep faith and unwavering service, Evangelist Ovwile was a cornerstone of her family and her community in Sapele Local Government Area, Delta State. Until her passing, she was a devoted and active member of God’s Grace Ministry, where she dedicated her life to prayer, offering counsel, and serving others. Her family describes her as a true pillar of strength, a woman whose life was a testament to humility, love, and godliness.
Mama Elizabeth, as she was fondly called, is survived by a distinguished family who continue her legacy of service and commitment to community. Her children include:
· Mr. Austin Azu, a prominent journalist serving as a Correspondent for News Central at the Government House in Asaba, Delta State. He is also a member of the Delta Online Publishers Forum and the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations, Delta State Chapter.
· Honourable Samuel Azu, who serves as the Leader of the Sapele Legislative Arm.
· Rev. God’s Time Azu, a minister at God’s Grace Ministry.
· Akpuvie Azu, Happy Azu Omofuju, Victor Azu, Vera Aghogi, and Justice Azu.
She was also a cherished grandmother whose values and spirit live on through her grandchildren.
The family, while deeply mourning their loss, finds comfort in the enduring impact of her life. “Mama Elizabeth will be remembered for her unwavering faith in God, her boundless love for family, and her steadfast commitment to serving others. Though we grieve, her life remains a powerful testimony of grace,” the family stated.
