To strengthen the nation’s democracy, the outgone Chairman of Ndokwa East Local Government Council, Mr. Juan Governor has called for regular and proper checkmating of the political class.
He made the call in his opening remarks as the Chairman on the occasion of the official inauguration of “Oganisu Political Forum” and launching of her 2021 Calendar.
The former council chairman who commended the concept of the political group said,
“I commend the effort of the leaders and members of Oganisu Political Forum; I am happy about this group because it will serve as a shade for us politicians, for checkmating both the leaders and the led. I advise you to sustain it.”
Governor expressed joy that such PDP political pressure group was formed during his time in office and pledged to identify with the leaders and members.
He charged the new exco members to shun all forms of maladministration, such as distrust, self-centeredness, and insincerity, adding that they should be open, transparent, and accountable to other members.
Speaking further, Mr. Governor advised them against unnecessary and selfish pressures capable of mortgaging the original purpose of forming the forum.
“Do not yield to politicians against your conscience so that you won’t sell out to selfish, greedy, and money bag politicians.”
Commissioner for Trade and Investment, Hon. Chika Ossai who also spoke at the occasion as a special guest of honour congratulated the new executive members of the forum and the organizers.
Hon. Ossai charged them to guard against what he referred to as “Fizzling Out” of the forum soon, saying that the political group should not be tied to a particular individual or political groups if they want it to stand the taste of time.
He charged the leaders to pilot the ga roup for the good of Ndokwa East Local Government Area and beyond.
The commissioner requested for a wider spread of the group for political reasons using the occasion to solicit the people’s maximum support for the present State (PDP) Government of Sen. Ifeanyi Okowa, the Executive Governor of Delta.
