EndSARS: Delta CJ tells legal counsels to submit pending cases

Delta State Chief Judge, Justice Marshal Umukoro, has told legal practitioners appearing for parties in cases pending before the high courts to compile their court processes and submit to the Assistant Chief Registrar, High Court of Justice, Asaba.

This was contained in a memo signed by the Acting Chief Registrar, Obomejero Aforkeya and was made available to newsmen in Asaba.

The order of the chief judge was occasioned by the burning down of the High Court Complex, Ibusa road, which caused wanton destruction of case files, exhibits, record books and other court documents that were completely razed down during the ENDSARS protests.

The statement reads: “In order to salvage the situation, Counsel appearing for parties in cases pending before High Courts 2, 3, 4 and 5, Asaba are by this medium advised to compile processes in cases pending before the aforesaid Courts and submit to the Asst. Chief Registrar, High Court of Justice, Asaba.”

The statement advised legal practitioners to submit the above-mentioned documents on or before 30th November, 2020.
