End SARS Protests: IGP Adamu orders deployment of mobile police force nationwide

To curb and possibly stop the spate of violence triggered by thugs across the nation, Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Mohammed Adamu on Tuesday, October 20, ordered the deployment of anti-riot officers throughout the country.

The primary objective of the unit, according to IGP Adamu, is to protect the lives and property of all Nigerians and secure critical national infrastructure across the country.

Moreover, to prevent the jailbreak orchestrated by hoodlums in Benin, the police boss has ordered massive deployment of officers to beef up security around all correctional facilities in Nigeria.

Adamu also instructed police commissioners in all states to differentiate law-breakers from peaceful protesters and arrest as well as prosecute perpetrators of violence in the country.

The IGP disclosed that 12 suspects have been arrested in connection with the attacks and arson on Police Stations in Benin, Edo and that five AK47 rifles initially stolen from vandalized police stations have been recovered.
