Nigeria Instagram celebrity, Raymond Igbalodely a.k.a. Hushpuppi will soon be extradited to face his alleged multiple fraud charges by the International Police (INTERPOL) Nigeria.
According to reports, the International Police (INTERPOL) Nigeria are underway to extradite Hushpuppi from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to Nigeria.
The report reveals that the INTERPOL are also on the trail to bring other Nigerian based accomplices to justice in the alleged fraud.
Commissioner of Police (CP) INTERPOL, Garba Umar revealed this to newsmen, while confirming the arrest of Igbalodely a.k.a. Hushpuppi on Friday.
According to CP Umar, “It is true that Hushpuppi was arrested by the INTERPOL and we are currently working on bringing him to Nigeria to face charges of fraud, stressing that “Some of the offenses were committed here in Nigeria and he has to answer for them.
The CP also lamented that Igbalode is not alone in it; there are accomplices in the country who we are currently on their trail.
Recall that Hushpuppi who is widely known for his reckless display of wealth on social media was arrested three days ago for allegedly hacking into the United States (US) unemployed data and impersonating citizens qualified for unemployment funds.
According to the reports that he and his accomplice in Nigeria, Dubai and other countries allegedly defrauded the US of over $100 million meant for Native Americans in the battle against the Coronavirus pandemic lockdown.
The Nation also reported that his arrest came three days after he posted a picture of his newly acquired 2020 Rolls Royce Cullinan worth about N280 million in addition to his fleet of exotic vehicles.
The syndicate was alleged to have filed in so many names of Americans who were still working to various states of the unemployment office and collected money from the system.
They were alleged to have used information stolen from the first responders, government personnel, and school employees.
It was gathered that Hushpuppi was arrested alongside two of his friends after weeks of investigation by the US Secret Service, following the alarm raised in May about a crime ring of suspected Nigerians who broke into the personal information of citizens and used factitious unemployment claims to steal hundreds of millions of dollars reserved to help jobless American people.
Although, Ramoni Igbalode may not ring a bell even as the mention of him alerted many because the born Nigerian Instagram celebrity lives in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates.
Before his arrest on Wednesday, June 10, Hushpuppi has been entertaining his 2.3 million followers on Instagram with his expensive lifestyle. His name sounds attraction and panache as he junkets high-end clothing, watches, and shoes on social media. He is a regular face at Dubai’s premier luxury department, Harvey Nichols.
He was also known for his shortcoming for luxury and high-end brands like Gucci, Balenciaga, Rolls Royce, and Versace.
Alleging to be a real estate developer according to his bio on Instagram, his high taste for expensive lifestyle has not only endeared him to his 2.3 million followers on Instagram but also exposed him to various celebrities and VIPs from different walks of life.
Rating from music stars to footballers as well as Nigerian lawmakers. His name sounds across the globe with origins in Nigeria and Dubai.
Being glorified as a philanthropist because of the lifestyle he demonstrated on Instagram, music stars like Olamide and 9ice have likewise sung Hushpuppi praises. However, it is not certain whether these music stars benefitted from his generosity.
On January 7, 2020, ex-Senator Dino Melaye turned 46 and decided to throw a lavish party for the occasion in Dubai. The guest list had the names of ex-Speaker of the House of the Representative, Yakubu Dogara, former APC spokesman, Timi Frank, and also at the party amongst the distinguished guests was Hushpuppi, the social media celeb who partied and took pictures with Dogara, Timi Frank and Dino Melaye.
On November 16, 2014, Hushpuppi was spotted with Iyanya the ‘Kukere’ star, he shared a picture with the caption, “Out for dinner with Mr. Oreo Iyanya.”
On November 1st, 2018, Hushpuppi shared a picture of himself with Wizkid, hanging out around somewhere in Dubai.
Also on March 26, 2019, Hushpuppi shared a picture of himself with Manchester City defender and French international, Benjamin Mendy, whom he captioned the picture, “I wish I can play for Manchester City and be humble and down to earth like my bro Ben Mendy.” Thanks for being the most amazing person ever. Although the nature of the relationship between Instagram celeb and the footballer could not be defined.
He had hunted for Phyno and Iceprince in time past, saying that since the duo wears fake Patek wristwatches, they should stop grumbling when people pirate their music.
Going aimlessly from Davido to Eniola Badmus, Kcee, and Timaya, Hushpuppi has had his fair share of bitterness.
Firstly, he takes on Davido claiming that he was richer than the musician, boasting about his original designer wears and shoes. Saying that many Nigerian celebs wear fake products. Others he hunted after were Eniola Badmus and Timaya, who in anger dragged him and dared him to come back to Nigeria.
Hushpuppi on December 14th, 2015, also shared a picture of himself and Mompha, flying to Malaysia on a private jet, announcing to his followers that they were both traveling for some business deals after spending millions on designer shoes, bags, and clothes. Even there are unconfirmed reports that the relationship between the two Instagram celebs has since gone sour.
Surprisingly, Hushpuppi’s arrest in Dubai came exactly eight months after Mompha was arrested for alleged fraudulent activities by the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) in Abuja.
