The Chairman of the Global Initiative Support Group for Sheriff Oborevwori 2027, Olorogun Josiah Ntekume, has predicted that opposition parties may struggle to secure 10,000 votes in Delta State in the 2027 general elections.
Ntekume attributed his prediction to what he described as Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s performance, saying the governor deserved a second term to consolidate his administration’s development programmes.
Speaking in an interview, he said the support group was formed by friends of the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Sir Festus Ahon, who share a common belief in Oborevwori’s leadership and development agenda.
He described Ahon as a seasoned journalist and public servant who had helped communicate the administration’s policies, programmes and achievements to the public.
Ntekume said effective communication of government activities was easier when an administration had achievements to showcase, adding that Ahon played an important role in keeping the public informed about the governor’s activities.
He said the group’s support for Oborevwori was driven by what he called “Agape love” and a desire to see the governor continue his development programmes across the state.
The group chairman pledged to contribute personally to the organisation’s activities and mobilisation efforts ahead of the 2027 elections, stressing that its support would go beyond public declarations.
Drawing from his experience as a former president-general of a community union in Northern California, United States, Ntekume said collective effort and personal contributions were important to achieving shared goals.
He urged the governor’s supporters to unite behind his re-election bid, expressing the hope that a second term would allow Oborevwori to complete ongoing projects and pursue further development initiatives across Delta State.
