Delta elites gather as Oborevwori’s son marries Arigbodi’s daughter

Political leaders, business executives and traditional rulers from Delta State and beyond gathered in Isiokolo, Ethiope East Local Government Area, on Wednesday for the traditional marriage of Innocent Oborevwori, son of Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, to Tobore Arigbodi, daughter of businessman and Managing Director of Librod Energy Limited, Chief Brodericks Arigbodi.

The ceremony, held at the Arigbodi family’s country home, was conducted according to Urhobo customs and traditions.

The event brought together people from different political, business and traditional circles, making it one of the notable social gatherings in the state.

Among the dignitaries at the ceremony were the Deputy Governor of Delta State, Sir Monday Onyeme; former governors, Chief James Ibori and Senator Ifeanyi Okowa; Senator Ede Dafinone; the Emir of Zazzau, His Highness Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli, CFR; Hon. Francis Waive; the Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Guwor; and the Chairman of the Niger Delta Development Commission, Chiedu Ebie.

Several members of the Delta State House of Assembly, commissioners, local government council chairmen, government officials, politicians and business leaders also attended the ceremony.

Prominent businessmen at the event included Chief Victor Egukawhore, Chief Eta Enahoro, Chief Tunde Smooth, Chief Johnbull Ejovi, Chief Tony Oboroh and Chief John Oguma.

The traditional marriage provided an opportunity for the two families to celebrate their children while showcasing Urhobo culture and traditions.

Music, dancing and traditional rites formed part of the ceremony as family members and guests celebrated the union.

Governor Oborevwori and his wife, Deaconess Tobore Oborevwori, joined Chief Brodericks Arigbodi and his wife in receiving guests at the ceremony.

The celebration later received an entertainment boost with a performance by Port Harcourt-based musician Duncan Mighty, who thrilled guests with some of his popular songs.

The gathering also highlighted the relationship between the political, business and traditional communities in Delta State, as dignitaries from different backgrounds came together to celebrate the families.

Guests at the ceremony prayed for the couple and wished them a peaceful, fruitful and happy marriage as they begin their life together.
