Daily Report Nigeria Launches Modern Broadcast Studio

Daily Report Nigeria has expanded its operations with the launch of a modern broadcast studio, a move aimed at strengthening its multimedia presence and improving news delivery across digital and broadcast platforms.

The new studio, officially inaugurated on Thursday in Effurun, marks the media organisation’s transition from operating solely as a digital newspaper to becoming a full multimedia and broadcast outlet.

Speaking at the commissioning ceremony, the Managing Director, Chief Executive Officer and Editor-in-Chief of Daily Report Nigeria, Tare Magbei, said the facility reflects the organisation’s commitment to embracing innovation while maintaining high standards of credible and responsible journalism.

Magbei described the launch as the beginning of a new phase for the organisation, noting that the vision behind Daily Report Nigeria has always been to inform, educate, entertain and connect Nigerians through factual reporting and quality storytelling.

He recalled that since its establishment in 2020, the media platform has grown from a small online newspaper into one of Nigeria’s fastest-growing digital news organisations, with over 370,000 followers and subscribers across Facebook, WhatsApp, YouTube and Telegram. According to him, the platform now records between six and ten million content views every month.

He attributed the organisation’s steady growth to the confidence reposed in it by readers and viewers, saying public trust remains the foundation of its success.

Magbei noted that the media industry is evolving rapidly due to artificial intelligence, digital broadcasting, mobile technology and changing audience preferences, stressing that media organisations must continue to innovate without sacrificing accuracy and credibility.

“The future belongs to media organisations that can combine technology with trust, innovation with responsibility, and speed with accuracy,” he said.

He explained that the newly commissioned studio would serve as the centre for live interviews, current affairs programmes, documentaries, podcasts, policy discussions, election coverage, sports shows, investigative reports and community-focused broadcasts.

According to him, flagship programmes including The Conversation, Daybreak Express, Nigerians Talk, Foreground and Sportspedia will now be produced with improved quality and reach a wider audience.

Looking ahead, Magbei said the organisation aims to increase its monthly digital audience to over 10 million by the third quarter of the year and more than 20 million before the end of the fourth quarter.

He added that Daily Report Nigeria would continue investing in video journalism, data journalism, visual storytelling, podcasting, digital engagement technologies and nationwide reporting networks as part of its long-term vision of becoming one of Africa’s most trusted multimedia news organisations.

Magbei also called for stronger collaboration between the media, government institutions, policymakers, corporate organisations, development partners, civil society groups, traditional institutions and educational bodies to promote informed public discourse and national development.

He said such partnerships would help combat misinformation, strengthen democracy and encourage national progress.

The media executive thanked the organisation’s staff, contributors, correspondents, partners, advertisers and audience for their support over the past six years, describing the launch of the broadcast studio as the foundation for even greater achievements in the future.

“Six years ago, Daily Report Nigeria began as a digital newspaper driven by a vision. Today, we open a broadcast studio driven by a mission. Tomorrow, with your support, partnership and shared commitment to excellence, we will build a multimedia institution that informs, inspires and impacts millions of lives across Nigeria and beyond,” Magbei said.
