Oborevwori Urges Muslims to Pray for Peace, Unity During Eid-el-Kabir

Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has felicitated with Muslim faithful in Delta State and across the country on the celebration of Eid al-Adha, also known as Eid-el-Kabir, calling on them to use the occasion to pray for peace, unity, and national development.

The governor made the appeal in a goodwill message released through his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Festus Ahon, ahead of the Islamic festival.

Oborevwori urged Muslims to reflect on the values of sacrifice, obedience, compassion, and selflessness which the Eid-el-Kabir celebration represents, stressing that such virtues are essential for building a peaceful and progressive society.

He encouraged the faithful to continue showing love and kindness to one another, especially by extending support to the poor, vulnerable, and less privileged members of society through acts of charity and almsgiving.

According to the governor, caring for the needy remains one of the core teachings of Islam and should be promoted during the festive season and beyond.

He also called on Nigerians to remain committed to the service of humanity by sacrificing their time, energy, and resources for the wellbeing of others and the growth of the nation.

Oborevwori emphasized the importance of peaceful coexistence among people of different religious and ethnic backgrounds, urging citizens to uphold tolerance, mutual respect, and harmony at all times.

The governor expressed optimism that Nigeria would continue to witness progress in peace, security, and sustainable development if citizens remain united and committed to nation-building.

He further appealed to residents of the state to continue supporting government efforts aimed at promoting development and stability across Delta State.

While wishing Muslims a joyful and spiritually fulfilling Eid-el-Kabir celebration, Oborevwori urged them to celebrate responsibly and remain guided by the principles of faith, sacrifice, and love for humanity.

The governor also prayed for Allah’s continued blessings, guidance, and protection upon the people of Delta State and Nigeria as a whole during the festive period.
