Court Sends B-Lord to Kuje Prison Over Impersonation Allegations

A Nigerian cryptocurrency entrepreneur, Linus Williams Ifejirika, popularly known as B-Lord, has been remanded at the Kuje Correctional Centre following his arraignment before the Federal High Court in Abuja on multiple criminal charges.

B-Lord, founder of the Blord Group, was brought before the court on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, over allegations of criminal conspiracy, impersonation, and the unauthorised use of another individual’s identity.

The charges stem from a petition filed by social media activist Martins Vincent Otse, widely known as VeryDarkMan, who accused the businessman of using his name and image without consent to promote business ventures and products.

During the court session, B-Lord pleaded not guilty to all charges brought against him. Following his plea, the presiding judge ordered that he be remanded at the Kuje Correctional Centre pending further hearing.

The court adjourned the matter until April 27, 2026, giving a 26-day window before the continuation of proceedings.

According to the petitioner, B-Lord allegedly forged documents and misrepresented a business relationship with him for promotional purposes.

In statements shared publicly, VeryDarkMan accused the entrepreneur of falsely claiming a multi-million-naira endorsement deal and using his identity to boost credibility for various projects.

“He forged flight tickets with my name and claimed I was coming to Onitsha to launch his app,” the activist alleged.

He further claimed that B-Lord printed billboards and promotional materials bearing his image, falsely presenting him as a brand ambassador.

“He said he paid me N500 million and that I approved his app. He printed fliers and billboards with my face without my permission,” he added.

VeryDarkMan denied all the claims, insisting that he does not engage in paid promotions.

“I have clearly stated on all my social media platforms that I do not take adverts or promotions,” he said, noting that he had turned down endorsement deals worth over N700 million to maintain the integrity of his brand.

In a video shared online after the court proceedings, VeryDarkMan was seen following law enforcement officials as B-Lord was transported in a prison vehicle, commonly referred to as a “Black Maria,” to the Kuje Correctional Centre.

The activist commented on the development, suggesting that the entrepreneur would remain in custody through the Easter period as the legal process continues.

The case is expected to resume on April 27, when the Federal High Court will continue hearing arguments from both parties.

Legal observers say the case highlights growing concerns around identity misuse and digital impersonation in Nigeria’s rapidly expanding tech and cryptocurrency sectors.
