Asaba, Delta State — The Delta Youth Transformation Movement (DYTM) has congratulated the Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Guwor, following his successful election as Chairman of the Conference of State Houses of Assembly Speakers of the Federation of Nigeria, describing the achievement as a proud moment for Delta State and a recognition of purposeful legislative leadership.
In a statement issued by the leadership and entire membership of DYTM, the Movement said the emergence of Rt. Hon. Guwor to the prestigious national position reflects his distinguished leadership style, legislative competence, and the trust and confidence reposed in him by his colleagues across the federation. According to the group, the development further highlights the growing influence and credibility of Delta State in shaping national legislative conversations.
DYTM noted that Rt. Hon. Guwor’s steady stewardship of the Delta State House of Assembly, marked by discipline, dedication, and progressive lawmaking, has now earned national recognition. The Movement emphasized that his election demonstrates the level of maturity and effective governance being practiced within the state’s legislative arm.
In his congratulatory message, the President of DYTM, Comrade Isioma Melekwe Odozi, described the election as “a resounding affirmation that purposeful, calm, and strategic leadership will always command national respect.” He added that Rt. Hon. Guwor has consistently shown that legislative leadership is driven by vision, stability, and commitment to institutional integrity.
Also speaking, the Secretary General of the Movement, Adm. Tola O. Ajemisogbe, PhD, stated that the elevation is both symbolic and strategic, noting that it positions Delta State at the centre of national legislative coordination and policy development. He expressed confidence that Rt. Hon. Guwor’s leadership would strengthen collaboration among state assemblies, deepen democratic values, and promote legislative innovation across Nigeria.
The Movement further expressed optimism that under his chairmanship, the Conference of State Houses of Assembly Speakers would foster stronger synergy among subnational legislatures, improve the quality of lawmaking, and reinforce the role of state assemblies in promoting good governance and sustainable development.
DYTM prayed for wisdom, strength, and divine guidance for Rt. Hon. Guwor as he assumes the new national responsibility, expressing hope that his tenure will continue to elevate the image of Delta State while contributing positively to the growth of Nigeria’s democratic institutions.
