Delta State — The leadership of the Indigenous Correspondents Chapel (ICC) of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Delta State Council, has sent a heartfelt Christmas message to its members, expressing gratitude to God and commending journalists for their resilience, unity, and dedication throughout the year.
In a goodwill message signed by the Secretary of the Chapel, Comrade Michael C. Odiah, on behalf of the Comrade Orusi-led leadership, the ICC described Christmas as a season that reflects the core values of love, sacrifice, unity, and renewed hope—principles that continue to define the chapel as a professional and united body.
The leadership acknowledged that the year came with its fair share of challenges but praised members for standing together and remaining committed to the ideals of solidarity, justice, fairness, and collective responsibility.
“Despite the challenges we encountered, we stood together, remained resilient, and upheld the ideals that bind us as a union,” the statement read.
According to the message, the commitment, loyalty, and sacrifices of members have not only strengthened the ICC but have also positioned the chapel as a formidable and respected family within the journalism community in Delta State.
Looking ahead to the coming year, the ICC leadership urged members to embrace a renewed sense of purpose, stressing that the task ahead requires greater unity, discipline, active participation, and unwavering dedication to the growth and progress of the union.
The leadership emphasized that every member has an important role to play in building a stronger, more responsive, and people-centered ICC, noting that now, more than ever, collective effort is essential.
“The future belongs to us if we remain focused, united, and committed to service above self,” the message stated.
The statement concluded with warm Christmas and New Year wishes to members and their families, expressing hope for a prosperous, peaceful, and impactful New Year.
The message ended with strong union solidarity slogans:
“Solidarity forever. Long live ICC. Long live NUJ Delta.”
The message was e-signed by Comrade Michael C. Odiah, Secretary of the Indigenous Correspondents Chapel, NUJ Delta State Council.
