Professor Builder Emmanuel Achuenu, the Rector of Delta State Polytechnic, Ogwashi-Uku, welcomed new students during the school’s 23rd matriculation ceremony for the 2024/2025 academic session.
He explained that matriculation is a special event where new students officially become members of the Polytechnic. It includes taking an oath to follow the school’s rules and work hard in their studies.
Professor Achuenu reminded students that the school started in 2003 with only 200 students but has now grown to have seven schools, 42 departments, and 74 accredited programs. He also mentioned that the Polytechnic has won awards in academics and sports.
Students were assured of safety on campus, as the school works with security agencies to protect everyone. The Rector also highlighted that the school provides internet and other resources to help students learn better.
Finally, Professor Achuenu encouraged students to be disciplined and obey the school’s rules. He thanked the Delta State Government, staff, and everyone supporting the Polytechnic’s growth.
