Delta State Commissioner for Bureau and Special Duties, Hon. Etagherure Ejiro Terry called on Deltans to always make an effort to support the administration of His Excellency Rt Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori for the utmost delivery of his mandate.
Hon. Etagherure said the MORE Agenda through the Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources will put together different programmes to enhance the provision of food sufficiency in the state.
The Commissioner said this while speaking with journalists during the 2023 World Food Day celebration organized by the Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources at the Cenotaph in Asaba, the Delta State capital on Monday.
He said citizens always complicate things because of greed for wealth as they unnecessarily increase the price of foodstuffs even when some of these commodities are not expensive.
According to Hon. Etagherure, some citizens are deliberately increasing the prices of local commodities all in the name of the high price of petrol.
Narrating a scenario, he said, “I sincerely went somewhere to buy foodstuffs for my mom, when I got there, just because I came with my jeep, plantain that was supposed to be sold for me five or six thousand nairas was intentionally increased to twelve thousand nairas.”
“We should learn to trade with caution to help ourselves instead of complicating things. Let be our brother’s keeper and also think of how to help our nation, the commissioner added.
